You can submit a discrimination complaint using the report form on Rita.nl. Rita.nl does not deal with discrimination complaints itself, but forwards your report and personal data to a connected anti-discrimination facility in your region. If the anti-discrimination provision takes your notice into consideration, the privacy statement of this anti-discrimination provision will be in effect. If you would like to know what anti-discrimination provision your complaint will be, please contact us. If you report anonymously, you will not enter or be processed with any personal information. However, we will ask your postcode in order to register the report.
Your report and personal data are processed by an anti-discrimination facility. Article 1(a) of the Municipal Anti-discrimination provisions Act mentions that an anti-discrimination provision has the task of providing independent assistance to citizens in the settlement of complaints about discrimination. The core task of sub-paragraph b is to register the complaints under item a. Registration and data processing follows through this provision from a legal obligation. This legal provision shows that it’s necessary for the ADV to process personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation on the controller. The ADV’s process special personal data (religion or belief, race, political orientation, health, sexual orientation, personal data concerning the membership of a trade union) from the legal task of the organization.
Discrimination is prohibited by national legislation. The task of ADV’s is to prevent and combat discrimination. Because the task reflects what is regulated by national law, the ADV is carrying out a task of serious public interest. Therefore, ADV’s may record special personal data. In order to deal with complaints, it is necessary to have at least the reporters postal code. It remains possible to make an anonymous report, but if a complaint is made, having some personal data is crucial. If the person concerned chooses to go through mediation, the person or body may be able to exchange information with him or her. If the person concerned does not wish to have recourse, no information will be provided to third parties.
