We note that LGBTQ+ discrimination and unsafe situations occur far more often than the statistics show, often based on gender, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics. By reporting incidents, we gain insight, can take targeted action, and work together to create a safer society for everyone.

RITA was established through collaboration between various organizations, including MEIJT, Gaykrant, and the Discrimination Reporting Center for the Amsterdam Region. They came together in response to a wave of reports about discrimination, exclusion, and violence in public transport and taxis. These organizations collaborated on several campaigns. Today, RITA has grown into a broader platform focused on combating discrimination and promoting safety. We support those who have experienced something, offering a listening ear and providing information. We track statistics to advocate for better policies, share community stories, and offer tips and relevant information.
